Welcome to KLS Counselling and Psychotherapy
Hi, my name is Karly. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Working in an integrative and creative way, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to offer support that is uniquely tailored to you.
My focus is often solution-oriented, while remaining flexible and responsive to your individual needs. I believe that we are all capable of growth and change when the right conditions are in place. In this sense, I see myself as a kind of gardener of the mind—working with you to nurture what you want to flourish and gently clearing away what no longer serves you.

Sometimes, we all need a space simply to be—a place where we can feel safe, be our authentic selves, and be truly heard by someone who has our best interests at heart. A space without judgement or obligation, but instead grounded in compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to understand. Choosing to begin therapy is a significant first step, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to be here.
Whether you are looking to explore personal challenges or difficulties that arise in relationships, I will be alongside you every step of the way. Together, we can work through issues such as anxiety, depression, fear, trauma, or unresolved experiences from childhood. Whether these struggles feel immediate and overwhelming, or echo from the past, you don’t have to face them alone—together, they can be understood, untangled, and transformed.
Person-Centered Theory underpins the work that I do and the therapeutic relationship that we will build by utilizing three of the basic principles which are unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence. This theory emphasizes the innate lean towards growth and being the best version of yourself that I believe we all have. You just need the right pot to grow in!
Attachment Theory is an exploration of your past and your relationships with the people in your life that influenced you the most. What did you learn about how to relate to others and what version of yourself did you need to be for them? These are some of the questions that might provide clues to your present issues, particularly in your patterns of relating. This is the grass roots bottom line of the way that you view the world, others and yourself and I believe that it is essential to dig down a little deeper for real sustainable and long lasting change.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is the focus on what is happening here and now. How your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and body interact with each other when triggered by situations. If Attachment Theory is grass roots then CBT is the frontline. Together we can use tools to challenge those thoughts that keep you stuck in negative loops instead of moving forward along the path that you want to be on.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:
